A little bit ABOUT US

PRESENTATION

The first Moroccan Design and Technology engineering school (l’Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts et Metiers ENSAM) was inaugurated in September 1997 in Meknes under Royal High Directives. The ENSAM-Meknes is open to its socio-economic environment and effectively participates in the south-central region’s economic and industrial structure development. As a matter of fact, a design and technology engineering school’s inauguration in Meknes is not only to boost the industrial sector but also to respond to the highly skilled engineers increasing demand.

The school prepares and offers highly qualified design and technology engineers by providing curricula that focus on both hard and soft skills. Its infrastructure is built on 10 hectares. It includes: 4 amphitheaters, 5 classrooms, 16 tutorial rooms, 4 industrial drawing rooms, a computational center, a conference room, a library with two reading rooms for students, one reading room for professors and one video library, an auditorium, and a language center with state-of-the-art equipment. Thereby it is a suitable workplace for students, faculty, and administrative staff.

THE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATIONAL TRAINING FUNDAMENTAL MODULES:

1- Core Modules (Engineering Sciences): Automation, Mathematics, Computer Science, Structural Mechanics, Energetics, ...
2- Practice-oriented Modules: Mechanical engineering, mechanical manufacturing, automatic systems.
3- Culture and communication Modules: Languages, corporate culture, general economics, IT communication, project management, organisation and business management, etc...

THE EDUCATIONAL PATHWAY

The future engineering student’s profile must be that of an innovative manager who is technologically and entrepreneurially competent. Its main characteristics are openness to other cultures, efficient communication, and productive teamwork. The educational training is divided into two cycles: Two years of an integrated preparatory cycle (4semesters) and three years of an engineering cycle (6 semesters).

INTEGRATED PREPARATORY CYCLE

This cycle provides students with human, technical, and scientific fundamentals for the engineering cycle requirements. It helps students develop a methodological know-how as well as a meticulous critical thinking and thus ensures a smooth transition from high school to engineering school. Validating these two integrated preparatory years gives students direct access to the first year of the ENSAM Engineering cycle or the possibility to integrate other engineering schools and higher education institutions.

DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING CYCLE

The (Arts & Métiers) Design and Technology Engineering training gives students the opportunity to:
Acquire the necessary scientific, technical, and professional skills.
Adapt to an evolving professional environment.
Assume responsibilities.
Communicate fluently and collaborate in teamwork.
Consider the professional environment’s human and social problems.

ENSAM CLUBS

The ENSAM offers a wide range of cultural, competitive, entrepreneurial, and social activities along with technical training and scientific research. These activities constitute a beneficial and professional integration of the engineering students “Gadz'arts”, which are designed to be versatile and open to the socio-cultural and socio-economic world.
The ENSAM Clubs are distinguished by a variety of vocations, an initiative spirit, and a demanding and efficient engineering profile in addition to a deep conviction for their ideas, concepts as well as their projects. They have therefore been established under the supervision of the students’ association, which is currently playing a paramount role in the school’s associative and festive life animation.
The sports club provides several optional sporting and physical activities for all engineering students who wish to practice their passion as well as those who only wish to keep fit.
The club's main concerns are to encourage the practice of sport as an indispensable part of leisure time, to explore new and hitherto unknown sports, to increase competitiveness between students from a sport-oriented perspective, and to improve the university sport quality and give it a new lease of life.
